NMA Frequently Asked Questions

1.  NMA accepts membership from merchant mariners or other individuals interested in supporting the working mariners.

2.  Does it matter where I live?

No. Where you live does not matter. Although our office is  physically located in Louisiana, we accept memberships and donations from all over the United States.

3.  Do you have meetings?

We have curtailed our membership meetings because our members are so scattered and work schedules conflict.  We will conduct special meetings upon request and announce them on this website.

4.  Who is in charge of NMA?

No one person is in charge of NMA. We have a Board Of Directors who make the final decisions after all information has been heard and weighed.

5.  What are membership dues?  $36.00 per yr.

Membership includes a subscription to the NMA NEWS - Our newsletter contains current events and other news relating to the "Lower-Level" licensed and unlicensed mariners serving on commercial vessels of 1600 gross tons or less.
